Careers and Professional Mentors (PMs)

Careers News - a call out to Alumni from AHS and potential Parent/Carers who may like to be added to a professional mentor (PM) database developed by myself. The purpose is to spend a specific time of a couple of months helping guide students who may be considering a similar Careers pathway with mentorship. This would be set up via a zoom or teams online platform at a mutually agreed upon time. If you or anyone you know would consider being a PM, can you send me a brief email with an outline of what profession you are currently in and how you got there? eg Lawyer- worked in a law office whilst completing Uni degree or Plumber who did work experience as a labourer and completed trade qualification to be a Plumber. Thanks in advance.

Year 9/10 timetabled classes for Careers and post school options 2021

NEW Program 2021....The Careers Adviser will be working with the Year 9 and 10 Year Advisers to support students in preparing and planning for future pathways. All Yr 9 and 10 classes will have a special timetabled lesson once per 2 week cycle. On some occasions the Careers Adviser will team teach with Year Advisers to upskill staff on important Careers information and other times Year Advisers will deliver lessons prepared by the Careers Adviser. This arrangement also means Year Advisers get to see all students on a regular basis to better support students in their group. This initiative replaces the previous access of students for Careers content, during religion classes.
